ToonTank 2.5D

Bob and I decided to make a new version of ToonTank, this time in 3d, but since we're sticking to a one camera direction (top down), we'll call it ToonTank 2.5D.

I'm in the process of writing a whole new network library for this project, and getting the game design done together with Bob.

Screenshots will follow as soon as we have anything worked out.

BTW, we didn't win at the Dutch Game Awards, but it was great fun to hang with "the big boys" from the industry!

ToonTank finished!

I finished my study in Game Development!
Well, I still need to receive my diploma, but I'm almost there.

My last project was ToonTank, and below is a video of the game.
It shows some of the gameplay, and a lot has changed since than,
but it gives a pretty good idea what the game is about.

I've started a new project for my individual end project.
It is called ToonTank, a multiplayer tank game build in XNA.

I'm in the process of creating the Design Specifications and Game design document which are due next week.

Below is a screenshot of a prototype:

Ah yes

Like I said, I can't promise to keep the blog up-to-date.
But I'll give it another shot, since I have a lot of interesting stuff going on.

Supreme Defense project was finished in time by the way. With very satisfying results.

I'll update the current projects as well.

Supreme Defense

Deadlines... You gotta love them.
The pressure is getting worse, and there is loads of stuff to be done for our game. But we are getting there. The new math lessons are really helping in solving some hard 3d problems, especially with angular calculations.

Today's sentense is "Chewing raw coffeebeans.. Nom nom nom"...

Viewport Test

I had to write an asteroid game. But since I'm working on a big assignment, there was no way I could finish it in time. Instead I took the basic elements of the assignment and wrote a test to see how multiple viewports and infinite rotation around the X-axis works with a 3D person camera. The result:
